Managing members, roles and permissions

From Settings → Users (Admin role required) you manage all users in your Space.

Available roles

RoleDescription
AdminFull access to templates, alarm rules, dashboards, users, billing and settings. Sees all organizations and groups.
SupportReviews templates, assets and rules to assist customers; can create/edit alarm rules where allowed.
CustomerEnd user: manages their own assets and personal dashboards. In Settings they only see personal notification preferences.

Changing a user's role

  1. Open Settings → Users and select the user.
  2. Set the new role.
  3. Promoting to Admin or demoting from Admin requires an explicit confirmation:
    • an Admin sees every organization and asset;
    • after demoting an Admin, re-assign them to the desired groups/organizations (possibly with a new invite).

Only Admins can change roles.

Global role and organizations

The role is Space-wide. Membership in organizations and groups decides which assets a Customer can see (and partly Support). An Admin does not depend on group assignment for visibility.

Before removing a user from an organization, remove them from its groups.

Removing a user

From the user page (or list) you can remove the user from the Space. They lose access to that Space's templates, assets and dashboards.

Notification preferences

Each member has preferences for this Space (not global on the account):

  • whether to receive alarm notifications;
  • an alternate notification email;
  • a Telegram chat ID.

Configure them from Settings → Notifications (available to Admin, Support and Customer). Admins can also edit them under Settings → Users → [user].

When an alarm rule uses an audience recipient (Everyone who can see the asset, or the customers / support variants), Spaces uses these preferences for email/chat ID and skips members who disabled notifications. Recipients typed explicitly on the rule are not filtered.
